Publication Ethics

Advanced Studies in Multidisciplinary Research is committed to maintaining scientific integrity and implementing the highest standards of publication ethics throughout the publishing process. This ethical statement refers to the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics and applies to all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers.

1. Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original works and have not been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal for consideration.

Authors are required to:

  • Present research findings honestly, accurately, and objectively

  • Ensure that all data used are valid, authentic, and accountable

  • Avoid all forms of plagiarism, fabrication, and data falsification

  • Provide proper citations and references in accordance with academic standards

  • Include only individuals who have made significant contributions as authors (authorship)

  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest

  • Use recent and relevant references, preferably from reputable and indexed journals (e.g., Scopus-indexed journals)

2. Editors’ Responsibilities

Editors are responsible for making final decisions regarding submitted manuscripts based on their scientific quality and relevance to the journal’s focus and scope.

Editors must:

  • Evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, and without discrimination

  • Maintain the confidentiality of the editorial process

  • Avoid conflicts of interest

  • Ensure that the review process is conducted through a double-blind peer-review system

  • Address suspected ethical misconduct in accordance with COPE guidelines

  • Maintain publication quality in line with SINTA and Scopus standards

3. Reviewers’ Responsibilities

Reviewers assist editors in evaluating the scientific quality of manuscripts and providing recommendations.

Reviewers must:

  • Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations

  • Maintain the confidentiality of reviewed manuscripts

  • Identify relevant published works that have not been properly cited

  • Avoid conflicts of interest

  • Report any indication of ethical misconduct, such as plagiarism or duplicate publication

4. Plagiarism Policy

All submitted manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software.

  • The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20–25% (excluding references and direct quotations)

  • Manuscripts proven to contain plagiarism will be rejected immediately

5. Conflict of Interest

All parties involved in the publication process (authors, editors, and reviewers) must disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence the objectivity of the research or publication process.

6. Data Access and Reproducibility

Authors are expected to provide research data upon request by the editor and ensure that the research can be reproduced or replicated by other researchers whenever applicable.

7. Publication Decision

The final publication decision rests with the editor based on the review results, scientific quality, originality, novelty, and contribution to the advancement of knowledge.

8. Corrections, Retractions, and Article Clarifications

If significant errors are identified after publication:

  • Authors must immediately notify the editor

  • The journal will publish an erratum, corrigendum, or retraction when necessary

  • Articles may be retracted in cases of serious ethical violations, such as plagiarism or data manipulation

9. Research Ethics (Additional Standards for Scopus Compliance)

For research involving human participants or animals:

  • Ethical approval (ethical clearance) from the relevant institution must be provided

  • Research must be conducted in accordance with internationally accepted ethical principles
