Plagiarism Policy

Advanced Studies in Multidisciplinary Research (ASMR) is committed to maintaining scientific integrity and rejecting all forms of plagiarism in the publication process. Every submitted manuscript must be an original work and free from academic misconduct.

1. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism refers to the act of taking or using ideas, data, writing, or other people’s work without proper acknowledgment. Forms of plagiarism include:

• Direct copying (copy-paste) without proper citation

• Paraphrasing without acknowledging the original source

• Using data or research findings without permission

• Duplicate publication

• Self-plagiarism (reusing one’s own work without proper reference)

2. Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software such as:

• Turnitin

• iThenticate

• or other similar tools

3. Similarity Threshold

The journal applies the following maximum similarity index policy:

• ≤ 20% (excluding references and direct quotations) → acceptable for processing

• 21% – 30% → requires revision and clarification

• > 30% → manuscript will be rejected

The editor has the authority to determine whether the similarity level is academically acceptable.

4. Actions Against Plagiarism

If plagiarism is identified:

• Before publication: the manuscript will be rejected and returned to the author(s)

• After publication: the article will be officially retracted

In cases of serious ethical violations, the journal may:

• Prohibit the author(s) from submitting manuscripts for a certain period

• Report the misconduct to the relevant institution(s)

5. Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for:

• Ensuring the originality of the manuscript

• Properly citing all referenced sources

• Using plagiarism detection tools before submission

6. Ethical Commitment

The journal follows the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics in handling plagiarism cases and other publication ethics violations.
